Erin Doty, M.S., CCC-SLP (Tier 2 instructor) holds a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions and a B.A. in International Relations from Wellesley College. Erin has also studied linguistics and language instruction at universities in Mexico and Spain.
As a speech-language pathologist, Erin has helped many business professionals, actors, and students acquire the pronunciation skills and ease of communication they desire. Erin’s goal is to provide individualized instruction that empowers her students communicate skillfully and show their true selves and abilities. Before becoming a speech-language pathologist, she was an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher and a community outreach worker.
Erin loves analyzing how people speak, and when not at AccentsOff she works in a speech science research lab, focusing on using biofeedback technology to help children improve their speech. Erin has lived in California, Oregon, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York, as well as multiple Mexican cities. In each place she has been fascinated by differences in accent and communication style.
She lives in Hell’s Kitchen, and in her free time Erin enjoys trying to determine which NYC bakery is the best, visiting art museums and galleries, and hanging out with her husband and one-year-old son.
