Arielle An
Arielle received her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at
the State University of New York College at Cortland. Arielle’s
passion for exploring different cultures, language, and phonology led
her to the exciting career of accent modification. She became
Compton-PESL (Pronouncing English as a Second Language) certified in
2019 to serve non-native speaking clients from around the world.
Born in the U.S. but growing up with a Korean mom and an American dad, Arielle was always interested in learning about different cultures and finding her own cultural identity. She worked as an English teacher in Kathmandu, Nepal, where she experienced Nepali traditions, cooking, holidays and even trekked to Mt. Everest Base Camp.
In addition, Arielle passionately studies Korean and Korean phonology and how it compares to English phonology. And now, Arielle has welcomed in more Korean relatives when she married her husband Sangmin, and the two are now first-time parents to their son Ephraim.
“Arielle An has helped me tremendously with accent reduction and with the pronunciation of many words I was unaware of mispronouncing as a native New Yorker. Arielle has a great personality and made me feel comfortable working with her. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to improve their pronunciation or lose an unwanted accent.”
