Arielle An, M.S. (Speech Pathologist Instructor) received her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at the State University of New York College at Cortland. Arielle’s passion for exploring different cultures, languages, and phonology led her to the exciting career of accent modification. She is certified as a Compton-PESL (Pronouncing English as a Second Language) serving non-native speaking clients from around the world.
Growing up with a Korean mother and an American father, Arielle has always been interested in learning about different cultures and exploring her own cultural identity. As part of that exploration, Arielle passionately studies the Korean language and phonology and how it compares to her native Standard American English.
Her many interests continually deepen her skills as an accent instructor. Arielle worked as an English teacher in Kathmandu, Nepal where she experienced Nepali traditions, cooking, and holidays and even trekked to Mt. Everest Base Camp.
“Since I’ve started these classes, I feel so much more confident about the way I communicate. This work is vital to my professional life. I’m enjoying the classes and sharing the information with everyone I know. I will definitely AccentsOff to my colleagues.”
