Mike Walsh

Mike Walsh (Staff Instructor) is a New York City-based dialect coach who has worked in Hollywood, with clients on and off-Broadway, and in television. He holds an undergraduate degree from New York University with concentrations in Linguistics and Classics, and a Master’s degree from Columbia University where he trained extensively with the Linklater Voice Center and in Alexander Technique. He is an adjunct faculty member at three renowned institutions where he teaches speech, diction, dialects, and Linklater voice.

Mike’s approach has always been to make the technical approachable; between his skill with languages (having studied and learned Spanish, German, and enough Japanese to comfortably be a tourist in Tokyo) and his background in music, theater, and education; he has a keen ear for detail and a passion for helping clients access their own personal learning styles in order to make quick progress on their accent work.

He spends his spare time taking dance classes, trying out accents at the local bodega, and hanging out with his cat Talia.
