Arielle An, M.S., CCC-SLP (Speech Pathologist Instructor) received her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at S.U.N.Y. Cortland. Arielle’s passion for exploring different cultures, languages, and phonology led her to the exciting career of accent modification. She is certified as a Compton-PESL (Pronouncing English as a Second Language) and has studied the Knight-Thompson Speechwork method of accent training under Tyler Seiple.
Growing up with a Korean mother and an American father, Arielle has always been interested in learning about different cultures and exploring her own cultural identity. As part of that exploration, Arielle passionately studies the Korean language and phonology and how it compares to her native Standard American English.
Her many interests continually deepen her skills as an accent instructor. Arielle worked as an English teacher in Kathmandu, Nepal where she experienced Nepali traditions, cooking, and holidays and even trekked to Mt. Everest Base Camp.
“Arielle An has helped me tremendously with accent reduction and with the pronunciation of many words I was unaware of mispronouncing as a native New Yorker. Arielle has a great personality and made me feel comfortable working with her. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to improve their pronunciation or lose an unwanted accent.”
